Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko is a classical research-type university founded in 1834, its main tasks are educational, scientific and research and innovative activities. The university has 13 faculties, 8 educational institutes, 1 educational and scientific center, preparatory department, Center for Ukrainian Studies, geological and zoological museums, University History Museum, Interfaculty Linguistic Museum, Information and Computing Center, Astronomical Observatory, Publishing and Printing Center and Scientific Library.

Today the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Igor Sikorsky” is the largest educational and scientific center of Ukraine, which combines educational, scientific and innovative potentials, and scientific developments are widely implemented. The National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Igor Sikorsky” was founded in 1898 as the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute of Emperor Alexander II and is a national self-governing (autonomous) state institution of higher education. The university has 14 faculties, 10 educational and scientific institutes, several research institutes and scientific centers. Bachelors, specialists and masters, candidates and doctors of sciences are trained. The university has its own publishing house “Polytechnics”.

Kyiv National Linguistic University (KNLU) is a leading educational and scientific-methodical center for training philologists – specialists in foreign languages, orientalists-philologists, teachers of foreign and Ukrainian languages, psychologists, managers, marketers, specialists in the field of tourism and recreation. KNLU was founded in 1948. The structure of KNLU today includes five faculties: Oriental and Slavic Philology, Germanic Philology and Translation, Romance Philology and Translation, Faculty of Tourism, Business and Psychology, Philological Faculty of Educational Technologies. KNLU trains specialists at three levels: bachelor, master, doctor of philosophy in almost 20 foreign languages, including: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, modern Greek, Czech, Polish, Arabic, Turkish, Persian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese. KNLU has preparation courses for taking the national multi-subject test, the single entrance exam of foreign language courses (English, Chinese, Korean and others), advanced training courses for scientific and pedagogical and pedagogical workers, a preparatory department for foreign citizens. The Confucius Institute operates within the structure of KNLU.

This is a unique educational institution – the only one in Europe that covers almost all areas of training for entertainers of variety genres and trains circus and show program artists. In almost all capital art institutions (municipal, national, private), you can find former and current students of the Kyiv Municipal Academy of Variety and Circus Arts, as the institution trains highly professional specialists in a wide range of arts – from singers and dancers to circus artists, actors and directors. Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture is a leading research institution of Ukraine in the development and implementation of the latest technologies and materials in modern construction.

Over the years of its existence, almost 80 thousand graduates have graduated from the walls of the University! More than four thousand specialists have been trained – builders, architects, designers – for 116 countries! And today, the KNUCA diploma is not only recognized in different parts of the world, but also serves as a reliable recommendation to its owner. Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television named after I. K. Karpenko-Kary (short name KNUTCaT named after I. K. Karpenko-Kary) is one of the leading institutions of artistic education, its history has more than 100 years of activity.

The higher education institution is an active participant in the general process of humanitarian development of society, preservation and multiplication of spiritual values, and integration of Ukraine into the European and world cultural space.

A leading institution of undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, a modern scientific and medical center, which has 232 doctors of sciences and 345 candidates of sciences (Doctor of Philosophy), of which 203 are professors and 219 are associate professors. The improvement and development of practical skills of our students and trainees takes place in the Educational and Production Center of Simulation Methods of Education named afterAndriy Tkachenko. The University became one of the first educational institutions in Ukraine to start medical residency training in the specialty of neurosurgery. The National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture is a recognized as leading art and educational center of the state.

The main principle of educating artists at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture has been and remains training in the specialty in individual educational and creative workshops, which are part of specialized departments. The workshops are managed by outstanding artist-teachers. The Academy maintains extensive international ties with higher art schools in different countries of the world. Within the framework of such cooperation, the Academy carries out extensive exhibition activities outside Ukraine, and also invites foreign artists and teachers to hold exhibitions, lectures and master classes. The teachers of the Academy undergo internships abroad, participate in international scientific conferences. Currently, graduates of the Academy worthily represent the Ukrainian academic school on all continents, working creatively and in teaching.

College of Choreographic Art “Kyiv Municipal Academy of Dance named after Serge Lifar” is an innovative choreographic higher educational institution that has fruitfully combined the methodology of classical and folk-stage choreography and prepares universal performers.

One of the successfully tested principles of the Academy’s educational activities is the methodology of revealing the ballet abilities of a young person who, for objective reasons, was unable to begin his studies in the usual terms. That is, if the professional training of a ballet dancer begins at the age of 10-11, we have positive experience with such training from the age of 13-14.

The Higher Education Institution “International Scientific and Technical University named after Academician Yuri Bugay” (HEI “ISTU”) is a higher education institution, privately owned. To date, it has 30 years of experience, over 5,000 students, more than 40,000 graduates and over 400 awards and victories.

The Ukrainian Military Medical Academy was established and received its name as a result of reorganization by transforming the Military Medical Department at the Ukrainian State Medical University named after O.O. Bogomolets in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of October 16, 1995 No. 820 “On the Creation of the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy” (as amended).

The Academy is a state-owned higher military educational institution in the field of health care, is under the management of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, conducts postgraduate training of medical specialists (both internships and military internships) and has: the status of a legal entity, its own Battle Banner, a seal with the image of the State Emblem of Ukraine and its name, as well as its own symbols, has registration accounts opened in the State Treasury Service of Ukraine, and is a lower-level manager of funds.

Since 1945, Institute of Metal Physics named after G. V. Kurdyumov of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as the Institute) has been one of the largest scientific centers of fundamental research in the field of metal physics in Ukraine and Europe.

The main task of the Institute is to conduct fundamental research at the atomic-molecular and electronic levels into the nature of structural changes and phase transformations that occur in coarse-crystalline and nanostructured metallic materials and alloys, surface layers, amorphous ribbons, quasicrystals, superconductors, films, and highly dispersed materials under conditions of low and high temperatures, high pressure and vacuum, rapid heating and cooling, radiation and ultrasonic irradiation, shock loads, cyclic mechanical and thermal effects, intense plastic deformation, aggressive environments, and to identify the relationship with physical and mechanical properties.

The State University of Information and Communication Technologies is a leading educational institution of Ukraine that trains high-quality specialists in the field of IT. Graduates of the State University of Information and Communication Technologies are in demand among employers all over the world, and the university itself is recognized by the government of Ukraine as critically important for the functioning of the economy and ensuring the livelihoods of the population.

On January 25, 2016, the first Pearson Vue certification center in Kyiv appeared at the institution. The Institute of Cybernetics named after V.M. Glushkov of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine

is a research institute of the Department of Informatics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, one of the world’s leading scientific centers for solving fundamental and applied problems of informatics and computer technology, implementing their methods and tools in various spheres of human activity. The Institute of Cybernetics operates a supercomputer calculating complex (SCC). It consists of five computer clusters: SCC-1, SCC-2, SCC-3, SCC-4, SCC-5 [2].

The institute has specialized academic councils for the defense of doctoral and candidate theses and a department of the Kyiv Academic University. The Institute’s postgraduate and doctoral programs provide training in a wide range of specialties in the field of computer science. During its existence, the Institute has trained about 250 doctors and more than 1,000 candidates of science, published more than 400 monographs and several tens of thousands of articles, and received hundreds of author’s certificates.

Kyiv State College of Tourism and Hotel Industry (KSCTHI) is the first Ukrainian specialized educational institution that began training personnel for the tourism and hospitality industry back in 1977 and formed the basis for professional hospitality in the country. The college provides a degree of education – from a professional junior bachelor of professional pre-higher education to the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education in both full-time and part-time forms of study.

Today, KSCTHI is the only educational institution in Ukraine where, during their studies, students of certain specialties gain skills in working in the global reservation systems “Amadeus” and “Galileo” in real time.

A modern institution of general secondary education of municipal ownership. The school has about 300 pupils from grades 1 to 11 studying educational programs that meet state standards.
